Nonprofit Jumps Right Into Fall
At The Well Global Ministries, Inc. ready to serve Dooly County, GA
WARNER ROBINS, GA- September 18, 2015
When Fall comes people love to see the change- changing weather, changing color of the leaves and depending on where you are, the time changes too. Fall does in fact bring change. And change is what At The Well (ATW), a new nonprofit serving Dooly County, GA, is seeing right now. “Change is constant and change is good. I’m proud of the changes that have and are happening for At The Well…” says it’s Founder and Executive Director, Darra McClendon.
ATW was initially incorporated back in 2009, doing dance workshops for girls in the Atlanta area. In the years that followed, participants decreased and it was time for ATW to focus efforts in a new area. But where?
McClendon relocated (via occupation and marriage) to middle Georgia and was attending church in south Georgia. McClendon continued dance efforts in middle Georgia area but started to feel a pull to focus ATW efforts in south Georgia.
The first thing to be done, in picking up with these new efforts was to solidify a Board of Directors and obtain a 501c3 tax exempt status with the IRS. Those things were done and structuring for the organization continued, bring about a new mission statement, core values and plans to serve the Dooly County community.
Having now established contact with the Dooly County Chamber of Commerce, Dooly County School System and the City of Unadilla, ATW is well on it’s way to serving girls and women the way it was originally envisioned. Go to ATW’s Events page to see what’s specifically coming up.
